Believing in God is one thing. The devil himself believes, so belief is not enough.
I believe. But I’m also convinced that following God – through a relationship with His Son Jesus Christ – is the Way, the only way in fact to truth, salvation, and eternal joy.
It took me 50-plus years to fully come to this.
So why do I – the guy who struggles to trust anyone or anything – choose to believe and follow Christ?
It’s pretty simple (and I thank God for that simplicity).
First, the body of documented and observable evidence for the existence of God and His love for us is overwhelming (that, and the veracity of Scripture, which we’ll save for another discussion).
Also the scientific arguments for the truth of Scripture, the proven history, the compelling archeological evidence, the sound philosophical arguments, and finally, the inexplicable personal encounters – yes, miracles – that I’ve been blessed to experience though His Grace.
There’s simply no way around any of this.
